The Good List: a good place to be

Our Christmas was very good with our families. Magical for Elisabeth.  She greeted Santa with a hug, kiss and "I love you Santa!"  It was precious.  She sat on his lap the entire time and opened all her presents.  She did well.  Polly Pocket, karoake machine (much to the delight of Chachi), books, the Littlest Pet Shop, movies and clothes.  Santa brought me a nifty new digital camera, iPod, new running sneakers, Forty Licks by the Rolling Stones, Nickelback Cd and resistance bands for yoga and pilates (Ifeel a workout theme here). Chachi is taking me to see The Cure (thanks Chach!!)  Michael's presents were:  clothes, Jimmy Buffett books, Cd's and Dvd's, real crime books, new baseball hats and golf balls and t's. 
Our dinner was fantastic both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  Thank you to our wonderful parents who cook so well.  I enjoyed my Dad's mushroom soup (part of the Wigilia dinner. a Polish/Lituanian custom), pierogies, kielbasa and ham.

You're at home too?

Hello there.  I'm home also on a Saturday night.  It was another jam packed day. Swim lessons, packing the dishes away, cleaning and laundry.  I'm just plain pooped.  I will be taking a quick shower and then I'm headed off to bed. 
Thanksgiving was wonderful.  Our families really enjoyed themselves. And the food was out of this world.  I'm so glad that my family is full of good cooks.  Thank you for bringing your delicious food!!!

Update on the IF front:
Our IUI did not work.  Aunt Flo was supposed to show up on Saturday but she came on Wednesday instead.  That bitch.  Doesn't she know that she's not welcome here anymore?  We're probably going to try another IUI again.  We'll see.
I'm disappointed. It seemed the day we did our IUI everything worked out.  Even though my gyn was being realistic, telling me that it will probably not work,  I had hope and faith.  I thought for sure it worked.  Being on this IF rollercoaster is for the birds.  I am trying to be optimistic but after two years of trying and nothing to show for it I'm just sad and depressed.  I wish we had the money that we could do cycle after cycle of IVF with ICSI until it worked.  It is just so much money to spend on something with no guarantees.  One healthy baby. That's all we want.  We have a wonderful home and are able to care for another child.  Elisabeth would be a fantastic big sister.  Funny how people who don't want to have babies get pregnant. And let's not get me started on all the turkeys that get pregnant.  That makes me sick to no end.  I know life isn't fair, but this just plain sucks.  I do hope that this will all end on a happy note.  People say I should be happy I have a beautiful daughter.  And I am.  Very grateful for her.  But that doesn't change how I feel about having another baby.  Secondary Infertility is for the birds too.  I just keep praying and hoping and believing that our time is right around the corner.

I will also be back on Weight Watchers tomorrow.  I really did not do too bad considering all the goodies we had.  My goal weight is 135 and I don't have that far to go.  It is a reachable goal I just have to get in the right mindset.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!  I hope you all have a wonderful holiday.  We've been busy here getting ready for our turkey feast.  Cleaning the house, marinating the turkeys and we took Kona and Logan for a walk around town. 

We are having deep fried turkeys, apple and cornbread dressing, broccoli casserole, sweet potatoes (my favorite!), cranberry sauce and numerous desserts.

I must go and finish my work. We are having dinner at 5:00.  I may be able to get a quick rest of my eyes in.

We stayed this past week in at the Mauch Chunk Lake Park. We had a very cute cabin called The Castle because it is the only cabin with direct access to the lake. The lake in which Elisabeth temporarily lost her pink Croc. Don't worry I saved the day by digging through muck and God knows what else.  The cabin was small with a double bed and two sets of bunk beds. No bathroom or kitchen but we grilled and cooked over the campfire (Go Daddy!).  We had burgers, hot dogs, chicken, roasted corn and of course smores.
Elisabeth had a blast!  She loved swimming in the lake, we went to the jail where the Molly Maguires  were hung (Pop wanted to go in the cell but she said no) and saw the infamous hand print.  It was really cool.  We went shopping downtown and had lunch at The Emerald Restaurant.  We even saw the Butterfly Lady. She came from the Butterfly Sanctuary in Jim Thorpe to teach us about butterflies. She brought live butterflies and put them on your hand and taught us the difference between moths and butterflies (moths have noses on their antennas, butterflies don't). We took a train ride across the Lehigh River and saw some white water rafters. 
It was an event filled weekend. We're definintely going back next year.
